PET CT SCAN PROCEDURE
Arrival Time: Please arrive 15-30 minutes before your scheduled PET scan appointment.
Document Verification: Upon arrival at the center, our reception staff will verify your documents and provide guidance.
Vital Signs Assessment: Our Technical Team will then assess your vital signs to rule out common issues such as fever and high blood pressure. Additionally, a Blood Glucose Test will be performed on-site to ensure the suitability of your scan.
Tracer Administration: The PET Tracer (FDG) will be administered, followed by a waiting period of 45 minutes to 2 hours for the tracer to distribute throughout your body.
PET CT Scanning: You will be required to lie still in the machine for 15-20 minutes and follow breath-holding as instructed.
Intravenous Contrast and CECT Scan: Unless contraindicated or in case of elevated creatinine levels, intravenous CT contrast will be administered. Subsequently, the Contrast CT Scan will be performed, lasting approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
Additional Sequencing (If Necessary): If recommended by the nuclear physician, you may need to remain in the machine for a few extra minutes after the standard scan for delayed phase acquisitions.
Report Wait Time: As PET-CT Scan entails a comprehensive examination, our team of medical professionals will review and generate your report within 24-48 working hours. You will receive an SMS notification once the PET Scan report is finalized.
